In short
AI output is not legal advice — consult a licensed lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction.
Consilena is a research and drafting tool, not a law firm and not a lawyer. You are interacting with AI systems throughout the product. You remain responsible for checking the output and for any decision you make with it.
How Consilena uses AI
Your question and the documents you attach are processed by large language models, including models from the Claude, GPT and Gemini families and open models run by our providers. Agents search the legal sources we hold, read your documents, draft and compare, and record each step in the work trace. Citations link to the provision they rely on, with its jurisdiction, status and date. When several models are used, the answer shows where they agree and where they differ.
What the AI can get wrong
- It can state something false with confidence, misread a provision, or cite a source that does not support the point.
- It can miss facts that change the outcome, especially facts you did not give it.
- It can apply the wrong version of the law, or law from the wrong jurisdiction.
- Agreement between models is not proof: several models can share the same mistake.
- Drafts and redlines can contain errors or omit terms your situation needs.
Coverage limits
Our corpus covers selected UK Acts and regulations, German federal statutes and EU law, plus French, Swiss and US federal law. Austria, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy are covered through EU law only. There is no UK or German case law yet. Each answer shows “Law as of” its date; law can change after that date.
How to verify an answer
- Open every citation and read the provision itself, not only the summary.
- Check the status (in force, amended, repealed, prospective) and the “Law as of” date.
- Read the work trace: what was searched, what was read, what was not.
- Look at where the models differ, and why.
- Check the facts the answer assumes against your own.
For legal professionals
If you use Consilena in practice, your professional obligations stay with you: supervision, competence, confidentiality and the duty not to mislead a court. Treat output as a first draft prepared by a tool, verify every authority before it goes into advice or a filing, and follow your regulator’s guidance on the use of AI.
Simulated views
The Persona Panel lets you pressure-test a draft as a judge, opposing counsel, regulator or investor might see it. These are simulated views, not predictions of what any real person or court will do.
When you need a lawyer
Get advice from a qualified lawyer before acting on anything important, and always where deadlines, court proceedings, criminal matters, immigration or children are involved. You can ask for a lawyer in the product: your file is handed over anonymised, and only once you consent and the firm accepts. Lawyers are independent of Consilena.
