For law firms

AI for law firms, with a trace of every step

Consilena gives law firms an agentic legal workspace in which each piece of AI work can be supervised: matters keep documents and outputs together, the trace records every search and read, citations open the provision relied on, and edits arrive as tracked changes. It covers UK, German and EU legislation, without case law.

Work a supervisor can review

The SRA's supervision guidance covers AI-assisted work: human review and professional judgement remain, and the authorised person keeps responsibility. A supervisor reviewing AI-assisted work needs to see how it was produced.

In Consilena that record is part of the work. Each step is listed with its time and cost, each claim carries a numbered source, every document decision is saved as a version, and the matter keeps the facts, documents and outputs in one place.

What the workspace includes

  • Matters: persistent memory for the facts, documents and outputs of each piece of work.
  • Batch Review grid: fact, applicable law and risk, one row per document, for review across a whole data room.
  • Tracked-changes editor and Versions: accept or reject each AI edit, compare any two versions and restore an earlier one.
  • Library and Workflows: templates and review workflows you install by practice area.
  • Document generation: drafts built from your templates, with mandatory clauses locked in place.
  • Persona Panel: pressure-test a draft as a judge, opposing counsel, regulator or investor; simulated views, not predictions.
  • Consilena for Word (beta), and PDF and DOCX export.

UK, German and EU matters

The law library holds selected UK Acts and regulations, German federal statutes and EU law, plus French, Swiss and US federal law; Austria, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy are covered through EU law. That suits firms with UK–German or EU regulatory work. There is no UK or German case law yet. See coverage.

Cost and data

Firms pay as they go: free start credits, then credit packs, with an estimate before each question and no subscription. Servers, databases, files and backups are on AWS in Frankfurt and encrypted at rest; the AI model providers that answer questions are US-based and receive requests with data collection denied. We do not train on your documents.

Trying it in a firm

Because there is no seat licence, a firm can start with a few fee earners on one practice area. Agree what may be uploaded, who checks the output and how checks are recorded, then compare the trace and citations against the firm's own standard for supervised work. The vendor questions guide lists what to ask of any legal AI tool, including this one.

Our partner law firm

Consilena works with BSKP Dr. Broll Schmitt Kaufmann & Partner (BSKP), a German partnership of lawyers, tax advisers and auditors founded in 1990. Oliver Kispert LL.M., managing partner of BSKP Berlin, certified specialist (Fachanwalt) in tax law and in commercial and company law, is a co-founder of Consilena. Users who want a lawyer can be handed over anonymised, only once they consent and the firm accepts. See law firm.

Frequently asked questions

What is the right AI for a law firm?

One whose work your supervisors can check. Look for visible steps, citations to sources you can open, edits as tracked changes, clear data handling and a price you can see before each task.

Can several documents be reviewed at once?

Yes. The Batch Review grid reviews a set of documents in one table: fact, applicable law and risk, one row per document.

Does Consilena offer firm seats or subscriptions?

Not today. Accounts use free start credits and pay-as-you-go credit packs.

Where is client data stored?

On AWS in Frankfurt, encrypted at rest. Questions are sent to US-based AI model providers with data collection denied. The privacy policy lists every processor.
