Comparison
Legora alternative: Consilena compared
Legora is an agentic platform for law firms and in-house teams, with research content partners and a Word add-in, sold through demos without a public price. Consilena is a research and drafting workspace you can start free, with a visible work trace, citations that open the provision, and pay-as-you-go credits. Here is how they compare.
Who Legora is for
Legora presents itself as an agentic operating system for legal work, “collaborative AI for exceptional lawyers”. Its homepage addresses law firms of all sizes, in-house teams and the public sector, and practices such as M&A, litigation, banking, tax and insurance.
Its legal research product names content partners including Wolters Kluwer, FromCounsel, Jus Mundi, Tirant lo Blanch and EUR-Lex, and says each finding links to its primary source, shown in context.
How pricing and access work
Legora publishes no prices: legora.com/pricing returned 404 on 28 October 2026, and the homepage's calls to action are “Book a demo”. Law360 Pulse reported on 23 June 2026 a move to consumption-based billing for one product; no public rate card was found.
Consilena gives free start credits without a card, then credit packs listed on the pricing page. There is no subscription, an estimate appears before each question, and credits never expire.

What Consilena does differently
- Watch the work. Every search, read and check is listed in a work trace with its time and cost, so you can see what was looked at and what was not. See how it works.
- Open the cited provision. Each claim carries a numbered source that opens the provision itself, from legislation.gov.uk, eur-lex.europa.eu or gesetze-im-internet.de, with its status and the date it was retrieved. See coverage.
- Approve every edit. Changes to a document arrive as tracked changes. You accept or reject each one, and each decision is saved as a new version. The Word add-in is in beta.
- Pay as you go. Free start credits, then credit packs. No subscription and no sales call; the price estimate appears before you send a question, and credits never expire. See pricing.
- Hosting in Frankfurt. Servers, databases, files and backups run on AWS in Frankfurt (eu-central-1). The AI model providers that answer questions are based in the US. See security.
- A partner law firm. When you need a person, you can ask for a lawyer at BSKP. Your file is handed over anonymised, and only once you consent and the firm accepts.
When Legora may suit you better
Legora may be the better fit if you:
- need named certifications: Legora lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and ISO 42001, and offers customer-managed keys in enterprise packages. Consilena claims no certification;
- need licensed research content from partners such as those on its research page. Consilena holds legislation only, no case law;
- want a platform for a whole firm, with collaboration and enterprise onboarding.
