What Hallucination means

Language models generate likely text; they do not look facts up unless a system makes them. When the likely text is wrong, the result is a confident false statement: an invented case, a wrong section number, or a quotation that is not in the source.

Grounding models in retrieved sources reduces hallucination but no current system eliminates it. The practical defence is to check every authority at an official source before relying on it.

In Consilena

Consilena can be wrong, as any AI can. The work trace and openable citations are there so you can see what it relied on and check it.
