What Large language model (LLM) means

A large language model learns statistical patterns from text and uses them to generate a continuation of the text it is given. Models such as those in the GPT, Claude and Gemini families can summarise, draft, translate and answer questions.

An LLM has no built-in link to sources or to the current law; it can be confidently wrong. Legal tools combine LLMs with retrieval, citations and review steps.

In Consilena

Consilena uses models from several families, including Claude, GPT and Gemini. When several models answer a question, it shows where they agree and differ.
