What Model Context Protocol (MCP) means

The Model Context Protocol defines how an AI application (the client) discovers and calls tools offered by a server, for example to search a database or read a file. A remote MCP server runs on the web and is usually protected with OAuth, so the user signs in and approves what the assistant may do.

MCP means one integration can work across several assistants, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code.

In Consilena

Consilena offers a remote MCP server at https://consilena.com/mcp, with OAuth sign-in and scopes you approve. Usage is billed in your Consilena credits, as in the web app.
